Report an issue
Streetlight out, a damaged sidewalk or a sewer concern? Call the Village Office at 902-765-2800. For a streetlight, please note the nearest civic address.
Sidewalks, crosswalks & streetlights
Within the Village boundaries, the Village is responsible for sidewalks, crosswalks, parking lot maintenance along Main Street, crossing guards and streetlights.
Sidewalks
The Village builds and maintains sidewalks and clears them of snow, working to keep them clear and well kept. Contact the Village Office with any concerns.
Crosswalks & crossing guards
The Village builds and maintains crosswalks and provides crossing guards at crosswalks with high numbers of students.
Streetlights
The Village places and maintains streetlights and pays their operating costs. To report a light that’s out, note the nearest civic address and call 902-765-2800.
Roads & streets
Roads and streets in the Village are maintained by the Province and Kings County, not the Village.
County roads: Acadia Drive, Acorn Lane, Cynthia Drive and Kalley Lane.
Sewer collection & treatment
The Village operates the sewer system, including wastewater collection, treatment and storm water management. Our goal is to protect public health and safety with reliable, efficient and cost-effective wastewater collection, treatment, effluent reuse and recharge.
The wastewater fund runs much like a private business: the cost of the service is paid for through user charges.
- Daily testing at the treatment plant
- Sewer main replacement
- Treatment plant maintenance
- Scheduled flushing of sanitary and storm sewer lines
- Emergency repairs when needed
Sewer connection permits
A permit is required to connect to the Kingston sewer system. Permits cost $425.00 and are available at the Village Office. Annual sewer rates are listed on the Taxation page.
