History
The Village of Kingston is situated
in Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley at the
western end of King's County.
Our rich heritage dates back to the
days of the Mi'kmaq. When settlers arrived from France
they were befriended by the Mi'kmaq. The French brought
apple farming to the Valley. Kingston became a
commercial center for both the apple and lumbering
industries. The Canadian Armed Forces Base Greenwood
added a new dimension to the economic and cultural
diversity of the area.
| Kingston Historical
Society |
The history of Kingston and neighbouring communities has
been written and compiled by the Kingston Historical
Society and published in a two volume book entitled,
Echoes Across the Valley, with the hope that our
heritage will be passed on to future generations. Enjoy!
The set is available for sale at the Kingston Village
Office at 671 Main St. for $25.00. |
